Donnie Moyd, Chapter President

As President of Lambda Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., I welcome you to our website. Our website is the “Capstone” of our service and reflects our commitment for continuous connectivity within Gainesville, Georgia, and surrounding communities.

As our Chapter celebrated 45 years of service in our community, Lambda Iota Omega stands “Ready and Willing ” to live up to the Sorority’s mission to be of Service to All Mankind. We follow the leadership of our esteemed International President, Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover’s Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service which includes five target areas: HBCU for Life: A Call to Action, Women’s Healthcare and Wellness, Building Your Economic Legacy, The Arts and Global Impact.
As you visit, engage, and explore Lambda Iota Omega Chapter activities and programs through this site, we truly hope the information is informative. It is our desire to educate and provide a wide array of tangible and relative programming which will enrich the Gainesville, Georgia, and surrounding county areas.
Our Sorority Founders’ set the vision of Service to All Mankind in motion and 114 years later, we are still forging the way with perpetuity and commitment to their cause; making a remarkable difference in the community.

It is with great pride, humility, and gratitude to serve as President of our Chapter. I am committed to servant leadership and will continuously strive to create, enhance, and promote positive and impactful programming during my tenure. We are the proud sponsoring chapter of Rho Eta Chapter (Brenau University) where we strive to nurture and mentor our undergraduate members as they learn and grow to become the next era of dedicated leaders.

In Highest Esteem and Regard for Community Service,
Donnie Moyd, President
